A Late Blog Update, But What Else Is New?

So, once again a pretty damn unreasonable amount of time has gone on between posts. What can I say? I used to be better at this. Which I guess is to say that I used to have time for it. Or something.

So, what has happened since the Edmonton Fringe? A whole heck of a lot, actually. Thanks for asking!

September was a busy month, with tons of little projects to fill in the days along with a lot of working. October is much the same: I did a reading for FemFest, read a play for MTC and another for MTYP. I did a kids show with Funny Box Theater which was tons of fun although not particularly well attended. I've done a fair bit of voice recording, including two days of re-recording two episodes that were lined up for the big animation conference a few weeks ago. (On that note, Noonbory was recently picked up by NBC and can be seen all over the place now, so check it out!) I've also been writing, and am closing in on the end of a new short play called "The Two Step", written especially for a brand new theatre company that my friend Michael Duggan is creating. Excited to see everything come together! One last thing: I also tried my hand at Comedy a few weeks ago, participating in Comedy Loser at the Kings Head Pub, a fantastic monthly solo comedy show put on my Ryan McMahon, a great local comedian. The debut of my character Richard B. Manly, a.k.a. Dick Manly, a.k.a. THE MANLIEST MAN IN THE WORLD went over really well. I've already started work on my next bit. Looking forward to it!

I've also been huge on self improvement. I recently started a "drink only water challenge", for which I've set up another blog which you can find over yonder. As well, I've started taking Capoeria again, which is kicking my ass but is also tons of fun. And then, I've been filling my other "spare time" with my guitar which I've actually started to gain some ability with. All in all, I'm feeling really good about everything and couldn't be happier with the majority of my life. Can't really ask for much more than that, right?

The end of this month will really from my game plan: I'm waiting to hear about my application to the Fringe Tour Lottery for the '10 tour (I'd be doing Ottawa, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Victoria and Vancouver), I'm waiting to hear back about my WAC writing grant and I've also applied for a 6 month term position in the water and waste department, which would mean my first full time job EVER, something I've been actively avoiding for as long as I could. What is next for our intrepid hero? Tune in next blog post (which will be soon, promise!) to find out!
